EARLY LIFE & CAREER
Born on December 31st, 1970, in Zaria local government area of Kaduna State, Uba Sani is a mechanical engineer by profession.
He furthered his education and earned a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Calabar, and also obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Abuja.
In 2018, Uba Sani established the Uba Sani Foundation with the aim of enhancing access to quality healthcare services, education and better livelihood for the underprivileged in Nigeria. The foundation leverages its resources and expertise to offer support to those in need, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, vocational skills, and empowerment.
Currently 52 years old, Uba Sani is married to a lovely wife, whose name is yet to be disclosed to the public. They have been blessed with children, whom he adores and is committed to providing the best possible future for.
UBA SANI’S POLITICAL JOURNEY
After the restoration of democracy in Nigeria in 1999, Sani ventured into politics, throwing his weight behind the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. After Obasanjo won the presidential election, Sani was appointed as Special Advisor on Public Affairs to the president. He also held advisory positions in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), where he advised the then FCT Minister, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, as well as in the Kaduna State Ministry of Housing and Works.
In 2011, Sani contested in the People's Democratic Party primaries for the Kaduna Central Senatorial seat but lost. He later became the Special Adviser on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs to the Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, in 2015. However, in 2019, Sani sought election for the Kaduna Central Senatorial seat under the platform of the ruling political party, All Progressive Congress (APC), and emerged victorious during the February 2019 Nigeria general elections.
In 2022, Uba Sani picked up the APC nomination forms to contest in the 2023 governorship election in Kaduna State. This decision was met with mixed reactions from his supporters and opponents, but Sani remained undaunted and determined to win the race.
Throughout his career in public service, Uba Sani has been known for his integrity, honesty, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
