Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Trump Las Vegas Hotel, Killing Driver

A Tesla Cybertruck burst into flames outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, killing the driver and injuring seven others. The FBI is investigating whether the explosion was an act of terrorism.

Witnesses captured videos of the vehicle engulfed in flames outside the hotel, which is part of the Trump Organization. The incident happened just hours after a separate tragedy in New Orleans, where a man drove a truck into a crowd, killing 15 people.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who supported Donald Trump in his 2024 presidential campaign, stated the explosion was unrelated to the Cybertruck itself. According to Musk, "the explosion was caused by fireworks or a bomb carried in the truck bed," and Tesla’s vehicle telemetry confirmed the truck was functioning normally before the blast.

Law enforcement officials are still trying to determine if the incident was terrorism-related. The FBI has identified the driver, who had rented the vehicle in Colorado, but hasn’t released their name publicly.

“This raises many questions,” said Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill at a press conference. The investigation is ongoing.
