Target Is Making Black-owned Products Easy To Find In Stores
Target (TGT) is ready to support black businesses and here is how they are doing it. They want shoppers to easily find black-owned products so they designed a badge to help identify these items in stores and online. Although many people are beginning to think that the movement against racial discrimination in the United States is beginning to die down as the protests are not as strong as before. However, from all indications and happenings, it seems the movement just began because businesses and corporations are beginning to contribute immensely to alleviating the conditions of the blacks in the States. Also, a lot of prolific white entrepreneurs and organizations have contributed greatly to black-owned businesses and organizations, especially black startups. In fact, some retailers such as Sephora have promised to increase the number of black-owned brands in their stores. In addition to this, Lashify has promised to educate black entrepreneurs on business management.
As more and more support is rising for blacks, the black communities, businesses, and brands start enjoying more recognition and patronage. It is against this background that “Target, one of the biggest beauty stores in the United State, created a unique badge that helps both customers and visitors identify black-owned products at a glance. Target's badge for black brands is designed in the form of a brown circle with several neutral-colored hearts in it. It is so unique that it can be seen at a glance. This new badge is attached to all the black products and brands in all Target stores. Some of the black-owned products and brands in the company with this new badge include Cantu, Iman Cosmetics, The Lip Bar, SheaMoisture, Alikay Naturals, The Honey Pot and Black Girl Sunscreen.
Target revealed that aside from wanting to contribute to the relegated condition of most black products, the move was also triggered by customers' feedback. The company said: "We have carried a number of Black-owned brands for years and continue to listen to guests to ensure we offer a compelling and relevant assortment that supports our guests' needs... Based on what our guests are searching for, we have started to implement icons online to help our guests find and support Black-owned brands and founders when they shop online."
Also, aside from creating a unique badge for black-owned businesses, the company has also increased the black-owned brands in all its stores. With this new development, black-owned beauty products and brands promise to attract more patronage and recognition.
The new badge makes it easier to locate and shop black-owned beauty products and brands in the company. The move is a very good one. It would not only help promote black-owned products and brands but also add some uniqueness to them.
