Stock Market Capitalization Declined by N15 Billion

The Nigerian stock market declined by N15 billion in yesterday's trading session due to declines in Geregu Power Plc and 23 other companies.
The All-Share Index (ASI) fell 27.06 points, or 0.04%, to finish at 65,309.65 points. In addition, market capitalization fell by N15 billion to N35.540 trillion.
Price declines in major and medium-capitalized equities drove the decline, including Geregu Power, Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (NNFM), Eterna, Dangote Sugar Refinery, and Cadbury Nigeria.
Market sentiment was positive, as assessed by market breadth, with 29 equities gaining while 24 equities experienced losses.

Top Gainers: Guinness Nigeria had the largest price rise of 10%, closing at N60.50 per share. GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria gained 9.74% to N10.70 per share, while Chellaram gained 9.73% to N3.72 per share.
The Initiates Plc gained 9.72% to end at 79 kobo, while Universal Insurance gained 9.9% to settle at 24 kobo a share.
Top Losers: Secure Electronic Technology led the losers chart with a 10% drop to close at 27 kobo per share. Northern Nigeria Flour Mills (NNFM) fell 9.89% to close at N12.30, while John Holt dropped by 9.52% to close at N1.33 a share.
Tantalizer declined by 8.33% to close at 33 kobo, while Mutual Benefits Assurance dropped by 7.69% to close at 48 kobo, per share.
Total Equity Traded: The total trade of yesterday's trading session fell by 4.97% to 317.808 million units priced at N4.472 billion and transacted in 6,376 transactions.
Access Holdings shares were the most actively traded, with 49.355 million shares worth N861.161 million changing hands.
Sterling Financial Holding Company came in second with 43.823 million shares worth N153.937 million, while Universal Insurance traded 28.864 million shares worth N6.897 million.
FBN Holdings (FBNH) traded 14.302 million shares for N261.734 million, while FCMB Group traded 18.126 million shares worth N112.162 million.
