nearer and the battle for the White House continues, political leaders are
tirelessly seeking creative ways to get voters to come out and vote. Much focus
is given to Black voters and different Black entertainers and influencers have
been working around the clock to get Blacks to vote.
While many of the Black
celebrities mobilizing Black voters for the coming election are not being
particular about any political party, legendary hip-hop artist Calvin Broadus,
better known as Snoop Dogg has teamed up with the Democratic National
Committee (DNC) to encourage voter engagement.
Snoop Dogg passes his
message through a promotional ad “Drop it in the Box” which encourages voters
to use Ballot Drop Boxes for mailing in votes. The promotional debut features
the artist’s hit song “Drop it Like It’s Hot” which also shows how voters can
drop their ballots in convenient drop box locations.
“This is the most
important election of our lifetime and it’s my first time voting. We need every
single American to get out there and vote,” Snoop Dogg said in a written
statement. “It’s time for y’all to drop those ballots like they’re hot – in your
local drop box. Vote early and let’em know your voices will be heard!”
The promotional ad was
created and produced by Cashmere, a marketing agency. While the creative spot
was directed by music video and film director Chris Robinson and the Robot Film
Co. team.
The ad will be
broadcasted across all digital platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Hulu, and
YouTube in Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan. The ad will
