RICHEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD

           RICHEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers (born July 10, 1953) is a billionaire heiress from France and the world's richest woman.

She was raised as a devout Catholic and has produced several Bible commentaries. She is Liliane Bettencourt's only daughter and heir. Jean-Pierre Meyers, the grandson of a rabbi murdered at Auschwitz, was her husband, and they raised their two sons, Jean-Victor and Nicolas, as Jews.  Her marriage was marred by the prosecution of her grandfather, L'Oreal founder Eugène Schueller, for complicity with the Nazi administration. Bettencourt Meyers and her family still own a third of the corporation.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, she was the world's richest woman in January 2022, with a net worth of $94.9 billion. According to Bloomberg, she held the title from July 2021, moving up with a net worth of US$86.0 billion.

She is ranked number 12 on the Forbes list of the world's wealthiest people.

L'OREAL IS THE SOURCE OF HER WEALTH

Liliane Bettencourt (d. 2017), Bettencourt Meyers' mother inherited money from her father, Eugene Schueller, the founder of the giant cosmetics company L'Oréal, in 2017. Profits for the $33.6 billion corporation (2020 sales) declined 6% in 2020, owing in part to consumers losing their appetite for makeup during quarantine measures. Despite this, the stock climbed 38% as a result of improving cosmetics demand, particularly for skincare goods. Bettencourt Meyers has been a member of the L'Oreal board of directors since 1997.

She has served on the board of directors of L'Oreal since 1997 and is also the head of the family holding company.

When her mother Liliane Bettencourt, the world's richest woman at the time, died in 2017 at the age of 94, she became France's reigning L'Oreal heiress.
