Instagram Model Nyakim Gatwech Made A Net Worth Of $9 Million Despite Criticism Over her Skin Color

The popular Instagram Model, Nyakim Gatwech, is playing her part in ensuring that she changes the long-time perverse notion of who a true beauty is. What more? Gatwech is making her money while correcting this belief. Despite her black skin, she has made a fortune for herself in the model industry.

According to Celebrity How, Nyakim Gatwech, popularly referred to as the Queen of the dark, has made a net worth of $9 million. 

Nyakim Gatwech was born to South Sudanese parents in Ethiopia. The black diva lived in Buffalo, NY before finally settling for Minneapolis, where she currently resides. 

All through her modeling journey, Gatwech has suffered a series of criticism especially because of her skin color. She had also suffered a series of racial discrimination and marginalization but has refused to give up on her dreams. 

During an interview with Harry Connick, Gatwech recalled one of the many racial experiences she had faced. This time it was during an Uber ride to a job interview. 

The driver asked her “If you were given $10,000, would you bleach your skin?” He asked because he felt the model would have gone far in her career if she had lighter skin. He also felt that if she had lighter skin, it would be easier for her to find love and find more jobs. 

However, Gatwech explained that despite the discrimination and negativity, she grew up to love herself for who she is and is proud of her skin color. 

According to her, self-love had been her motivation and has brought her to the place she is today. She is not only modeling to promote her race and color, but she is also advocating for young Black girls. 

“I want to be an example with girls who struggle and see me and say ‘she’s living proof to love yourself,’” Gatwech told CBS.
