How NAPIMS’ ex-GGM, Dafe Sejebor got arrested in the U.S. for ‘human trafficking’
Dafe Sejebor, former group general manager of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) remains detained in the U.S. over his alleged involvement in human trafficking in 2019.
The former NAPIMS boss was arrested along with 46 others after a 10-day probe focused on Fort Bend County and the Katy area of Texas. The 47 suspects arrested include 27 women and 20 men, according to Click2Houston. Following a series of investigations, the U.S. authorities discovered that 8 were actual victims, with another 8 charged with and sex and human trafficking-related offenses.
Some of the suspects were also charged for illegal possession of weapons, possession of narcotics, and possession of controlled substances, as well as tampering with evidence and prostitution.
Concerning the matter, at the time, an officer with the Houston police department vice-division, John Wall said the authorities were there to first ensure that the problem of human trafficking was well understood and finding the best way possible to “fix the victim.”
“We understand they are scared to come forward, but we are going to do everything in our power to keep them safe, give them the services they need to move forward in life,” Wall said,
Sejebor retired from the NAPIMS in August 2015. NAPIMS is a subsidiary of the National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
