Mukthar Adam, Zenith Bank’s CFO Named Chief Financial Officer of the Year

Awards came in for one of Zenith's special in the person of Dr. Mukhtar Adam, the Chief Financial Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, who was awarded the 'Chief Financial Officer of the Year' at the just concluded 11th All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) in association with CNBC Africa.

The award ceremony was held on June 23, 203 in the King's Ballroom in Sun City, South Africa. The event was attended by a good number of African professionals both in the finance and public sectors. 

After being announced the 'Chief Financial Officer of the Year,' Mukhtar went on to congratulate the judges and organizers of the event, after which he expressed his gratitude for being selected winner of the 'Chief Financial Officer of the Year award for 2023. 

He didn't stop there, he went on to dedicate the award to his boss Jim Ovia, the founder and chairman of Zenith Bank Plc. He also thanked Zenith Bank's management, his colleagues in Nigeria, and the bank's subsidiaries in different countries both within and outside the continent for creating a great work environment. Mukhtar also thanked the Zenith Bank customers who made the financial institution attain such height.

Dr. Mukhtar Adam's Work Experience Before Becoming the CFO of Zenith Bank Plc

• Before attaining the position of the  Chief Financial Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr. Mukhtar Adam was the bank's Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO), directing the Financial Reporting, Tax Management, and Strategic Planning Groups and overseeing the whole financial reporting function of the Zenith Group. 

• Before joining Zenith Bank in 2007, he worked as a Senior Consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) Financial Services Group.

His wide financial expertise ranges from financial sector management and policy research to financial reporting and analysis, tax management, audit management, strategy formulation and implementation, enterprise risk management, credit risk management, and financial advisory. He is very skilled at capacity development and training. Dr. Mukhtar Adam is a productive researcher who has many professional and academic publications to his name.
