Marshawn Lynch Launches Premium Black-Owned Cannabis Company

Marshawn Lynch, former National Football League Raiders player on Thursday announced the launch of his new cannabis company, Dodi Blunts.

Lynch is partnering with “Oakland’s premiere craft Blunt” to launch the company. Dodi Blunts’ first product will be the TCHa diamond-infused blunts which will go on sale at Bay Area dispensaries, starting next month.

The company will produce “premium” 24kt diamond-infused blunts. The diamonds are THCa diamonds, formed from crystalline structures that are developed in sauce extracts. Palm leaves will be used as wrappers and filled with organically grown Zkittles marijuana strain

“We are devoted to getting social equity ‘right’ and creating opportunities that The War on Drugs annihilated for Black and Brown people. ESPECIALLY in Oaktown, the company wrote on its website. “To do this we are partnering with the Last Prisoner Project here in the Bay Area.”

The Last Prisoner Project (LPP) is a nonprofit dedicated to all cannabis-related criminal justice reform. The goal of the LPP is to redress the past and continuing injustices and laws against cannabis-related crimes. This is done through intervention, advocacy, and awareness campaigns. “We will work together to raise money, build awareness, and drive significant, lasting change.”

In an interview with Forbes, Lynch said Dodi has always been part of his life.

“I’ve been around Dodi most of my life,” said Lynch. “As I learned more about the business, the financial upside, the good that could be done, and the doors it could open, I key it was something I needed to be rockin’ with.”

Lynch said the first customers to indulge the first set of Dodi Blunts will “experience the highest, richest potency of palm leaf-wrapped blunts” packaged in a reusable blunt tube. The former NFL player added that the marijuana industry has the capability to support Black and Brown communities, and he intends to support as much as he could.

Jeff Goldenberg, 2nd and Goal founding partner said the launch of Dodi Blunts creates a meeting point for canna-stars, and there is an alignment of sports, culture and society, and politics and legalization. He added that Dodi Blunts will change the tradition of “Game Day” rituals. It also aims to promote “the relationship between sports and cannabis cultures.”
