Google Launches AI First Accelerator Program for African Startups

On Tuesday, Google revealed its "Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First", a program poised to assist African startups who are eager to use AI to assist their business run efficiently while relying on the latest technology AI trend.
Head of Startup Ecosystem Africa, Folarin Aiyegbusi said that the program was focused on the transformative role of AI around the world.
His words,
Africa’s tech landscape is vibrant and ever-evolving, and it is inspiring to see African startups not only harnessing AI to address our unique challenges but also setting benchmarks for the world.
AI First’ is more than a program; it’s a testament to our belief in the vision of these startups, ensuring they have the support and guidance they need to realize their full potential.
This program recognizes the transformative role that AI is playing across the world, innovating industries and reimagining the realms of possibilities.

The 'AI First' program which recognizes the role of AI globally also focuses on African startups and how they can solve issues in their region through utilizing the use of AI.
The organizers say that the AI First program draws inspiration from previous programs such as the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa, Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founder, and Google for Startups Black Founders Fund.
The 10-week accelerator program which is now open is inviting startups to the series A state which is focused on Africa or building Africa with the use of AI and machine learning.
