Twitter's owner and CEO, Elon Musk, announced that the microblogging platform will soon begin paying verified users for ads that appear when others view their profiles. This extension of Twitter's monetization program is set to bring double payouts for content creators already earning from impressions on their posts.
Exclusive Offer for Verified Users
Elon Musk clarified that the new monetization opportunity is exclusively available to verified users. This means that users who have the coveted blue tick on their profiles will be eligible to participate in the program and potentially earn substantial revenue.

The push for more verified accounts is evident in Musk's statement, as he believes that several accounts on Twitter could potentially earn thousands of dollars if they become verified. This move may serve as an incentive for users to seek verification and increase the platform's roster of verified accounts.
Expanding the Program Globally and Payout Details
Twitter has already begun its planned ad revenue sharing with content creators in the United States, resulting in many creators receiving substantial payouts based on their impressions. For creators to be eligible for this new program, they must be Twitter Blue subscribers and have accumulated at least 5 million tweet impressions each month for the past three months. The payouts will be cumulative from February onwards and will be processed through Stripe.
Due to tremendous interest from creators worldwide, Twitter is now expanding its monetization program to content creators globally. Eligible creators will automatically be able to start receiving ad revenue once the program is launched. This move is likely to attract more content creators to the platform, further diversifying its user base and content offerings.
Twitter's ads revenue sharing program will sit alongside creator subscriptions within its monetization offerings, providing creators with multiple avenues to monetize their content. This approach aims to empower creators and reward them for their contributions to the platform.
To qualify for the payouts, content creators must either be subscribed to Twitter Blue or be verified organizations. Additionally, they need to have achieved at least 5 million impressions on their posts in each of the last three months. Twitter will conduct a human review process to ensure that creators meet the required standards for monetization.
As Twitter's new monetization program takes flight, it is set to foster a vibrant community of creators and provide them with exciting opportunities to earn from their content. The platform's global expansion of the ads revenue sharing initiative reflects its commitment to nurturing a thriving creative ecosystem for users across the world. With Elon Musk's ambitious vision, Twitter's future as a creator-friendly platform seems increasingly promising.
