Eko DisCo Announces Tinuade Sanda as the First Female MD of the Company

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company aspires to be Africa's leading and most customer-focused power utility, as well as the preferred choice of all stakeholders.

The EKEDP licensing area includes the southern half of Lagos state as well as Agbara in Ogun state. The EKEDP licensing area has been divided into ten districts for ease of operations and work division:

- Agbara | Ojo | Festac

- Ijora | Mushin | Orile | Apapa

- Lekki | Ibeju | Islands

The board of directors of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has accepted Tinuade Sanda's appointment as the company's managing director, effective immediately.

Sanda's appointment was announced by the power distribution corporation (DisCo) on Wednesday.

Sanda is the company's first female MD since its inception, upon her appointment.

She succeeds Adeoye Fadeyibi, who served as the president for four years.

Sanda joined EKEDC as chief treasury and taxes officer in 2013, according to a statement released by the corporation.

She is reported to have worked her way up through the ranks to become the company's chief accounting officer, where she implemented revenue-generating initiatives and oversaw crucial projects, contributing to the company's success.

"Sanda is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Management Consultants in the United States, and the Institute of Professional Financial Managers in London," according to the statement.

"She is also an associate member of the Nigerian Risk Management Association and the Nigerian Institute of Directors." After graduating with a second-class upper in Financial Accounting from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, she earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School, Herriot Watt University, Scotland, UK."

Sanda will spearhead the company's next phase of expansion, according to EKEDC, by aggressively lowering aggregate technical, commercial, and collection losses.

The DisCo intends to improve energy reliability and availability under her leadership, as well as the company's customer satisfaction index.
