Dr. Temitope Fasoranti Acquires 1 Million Zenith Bank Shares

Dr Temitope Fasoranti, an executive director of Zenith Bank Plc, is said to have reportedly bought a total of 1.7 million units of Zenith Bank shares.

This was revealed in a corporate notice signed by the company secretary/general counsel of Zenith Bank, Michael Otu, filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited that same day.

According to sources, Fasoranti acquired the shares in different tranches and on different days earlier this month.

Fasoranti bought one million units of Zenith Bank’s shares this Monday at an average price of N34.95 per unit.

The shares were bought in four tranches of 200,000 units at N34.80, 300,000 units at N34.90, 200,000 units at N35.00, and 300,000 units at N35.10.

On Tuesday, Dr Temitope Fasoranti bought an additional 750,000 units of the shares. They were purchased in three tranches of 300,000 units at N34.70, 300,000 units at N34.80, and 150,000 units at N34.90 each. The total value of the transactions is N61.05m, the PUNCH reveals.

According to the financial institution's half-year report, Dr. Temitope Fasoranti was appointed as Executive Director of Zenith Bank on December 29, 2017. As of June 2023, Dr Temitope Fasoranti held 13,075,000 units directly.

Who Is Dr. Temitope Fasoranti 

Dr. Temitope Fasoranti is a seasoned banker with over three decades of experience in the Nigerian financial services industry. He is an alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (1988), a Master’s Degree in Economics (1991) and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Economics.

He has also received executive-level education and attended several international courses and programs, including Changing The Game: Negotiation and Competitive Decision Making (Harvard Business School), Creating and Leading High-Performance Teams (The Wharton School, Pennsylvania, USA), and Developing Strategy for Value Creation (London Business School).

He worked in FBN Merchant Bankers from 1991 to 1997 before joining Zenith Bank in 1997. Before becoming executive director in December 2017, he was a general manager/group zona head overseeing several branches and zones in Lagos State, including Ikeja Zone, Apapa Zone, Ilupeju Zone, and the southwest region. He also served as the Group Head of strategic business units in the head office, including Oil & Gas, Conglomerate Group, and Agriculture Desk.

Dr. Fasoranti’s experience spans Treasury Management, Corporate Finance, Corporate Banking, Risk Management, and Retail Banking. He is also vastly experienced in managing Fintech relationships, with competencies in cards, electronic banking, and payment systems.

Dr. Fasoranti is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Institute of Credit Administration, and an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
