Definition of CEO

CEO stands for Chief Executive Officer. They are the highest-ranking executive within a company as well as being the 'leader' and the face of the company, and are responsible for all actions by the company.

The responsibilities of the CEO include:

• High level strategic planning
• Managing operations of the company
• Liaising with the board of directors on corporate operations
• Corporate decision making

The CEO may also sit on the Board of Directors, and be Chairman of the Board or President of the firm.
