Tesla is facing a loyalty test in Europe as Volkswagen and BMW Group overtook its EV sales in February, according to JATO Dynamics.
📉 Tesla's decline:
Tesla's EV sales fell 44% year-over-year, dropping to under 16,000 units.
Its market share hit 9.6%, the lowest February level in five years.
Factors: Political controversies, increasing EV competition, and Model Y phase-out.
📈 The new EV leaders:
Volkswagen: +180% (nearly 20,000 units sold) 🚀
BMW & Mini: ~19,000 units
Chinese brands combined also outsold Tesla, led by:
BYD: +94%
Polestar: +84%
Xpeng & Leapmotor saw growth, while Volvo & MG sales dropped.
Despite total EU car sales declining 3%, EV registrations surged 25%. Is Tesla losing its grip on the European market?
