While these changes may be unpleasing to many of the customers, it is undeniable in the best interest of everyone. These new set of protocols are set to change the operations of hotels. However, the overall goal is to make guests feel relatively safe from the coronavirus while having a good time lodging.

In addition to the new changes, it is required of hotel workers to clean surfaces more often, stickers have to be installed on the floors to always remind people to maintain distance from each other. There will also be hand sanitizers and dispensers distributed across the buildings. The use of face mask will also be mandated by hotels, especially among their workers.

Some hotels are pushing for the use of robot vacuums to reduce the contact cleaners have with rooms. Many other hotels have taken the initiative to use fog-spray disinfectant devices to disinfect rooms.

The California Hotel and Lodging Association has created a checklist to help with the new operations of hotels. Items included in the checklist include the use of hot water to wash bedspreads and taking out valet services.

By showing that they can contain the risk of further infection spread, hotels hope to attract more customers.
