Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields resigns after a black man was fatally shot by Atlanta police officer

A black man fell asleep while on the line at Wendy's drive-thru in Atlanta and someone called the cops to check on him. When the cops got to the scene, the officers tried to arrest the man after they woke him up but it became a struggle. 

Two officers attempted forcefully arrest him and they also tried to tase him. Eventually, he got away from them and he tried running away. According to what we saw in the video, Rayshard Brooks, a 27 years old black man was shot in the back. He died during surgery at the hospital.

The fatal shooting death of Rayshard Brooks at the hand of the Atlanta police officers caused the police chief, Erika Shields, to resign effective immediately. Keisha Lance Bottoms, the mayor of Atlanta, is also calling for the officers to be arrested.
