African American actor Michael K. Williams was found dead in his New York apartment today September 6, 2021

Actor Michael Williams was found unresponsive in his New York apartment near the East River waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the NYPD spokesperson revealed. Mr. Williams was well known for his role in “The Wire” television series and his major role in another HBO show titled “Boardwalk Empire” and “Lovecraft Country”. ‘

“The Wire,” has died, a New York Police Department spokesperson said. Mr. Michael K Williams died at age 54,

“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Michael Kenneth Williams, a member of the HBO family for more than 20 years,” HBO said. “While the world is aware of his immense talents as an artist, we knew Michael as a dear friend who was beloved by all who had the privilege to work with him. We send our deepest condolences to his family for this immeasurable loss.”

“Williams — who had talked openly about his past struggles with drugs — was pronounced dead by authorities at 2:12 p.m., sources said, adding that it appeared the TV star had fatally OD’d. It was unclear how long the actor may have been dead”. The NY Post reported earlier today.

“No foul play indicated,’’ a police source said. “No forced entry, the apartment was in order.’’
